Why do I need an Architect?

An architect can help you to realise your properties potential. From re-modelling to extending or new build, your architect can help you along the way from paper to reality. This includes pre-planning advice, preparing a full planning application and submitting a building regulations package for delivery and compliance. There is nobody better placed to assist you!

Are you qualified as an Architect?

An architect is the most qualified of all construction professionals as they undertake extensive training over 7 years before they can operate. I have undertaken this training and I am registered with the Architects Registration Board, my registration number is 088521E.

How do I know if I need Planning Permission?

Your local council will be able to advise on any 'permitted development rights' but the best advice is to pick up the phone and discuss your plans with your local architect!

Do you cover Building Regulations also?

I offer a complete service, from early feasibility and concept to package delivery and construction. This includes planning, building regulations and project/ design management which can all be quoted separately. If you are unsure, just ask and I will be able to advise...

Can you act as the Principal Designer?

An Architect is usually best placed to act as the Principal Designer, as long as they have 'overall control' of the design work phase. Under Part 2B of the Building Regulations in Wales, all controlled building works apply especially High Risk Buildings but there are some limited minor exceptions. 

I am able to act as the Principal Designer on appropriate works with up to £250k of associated risk currently.

Do you require a deposit?

There is no deposit required. I usually undertake an initial site visit followed by a quotation which will usually include some initial advice.
